Skincare: Moisturisers

So I know I have been an awful blogger this month but im back with my skincare products. Instead of doing one really long post with everything I use (which is actually a lot now) I thought I would do a mini series where I would go over the products and how I use them in more detail and I personally would rather read a short post than a majorly long one. Anywayyy on with the Moisturisers I use on my face and body.

I have had this pot of Avon's Rich Moisture Face Cream for about 2 years now and It has only just ran out, I have no idea if you can even still buy it from them but if you can I suggest you look into it. It's an amazing face cream, it is very thick and does sit on your skin for a while so it's best to put this on and then wait 5 minutes for it to sink in, but it's perfect for anybody who has dry skin like I do as it really does stop any signs of dryness on your face. I can't remember how much this cost me but I dont think it was anything more than £5 so it's really worth it as it's lasted me so long and you only needed the tiniest bit to cover your whole face and neck.

As my Avon cream has just ran out I have bought this one from Simple, I have a few other products from Simple and I really like all of them so I thought this would be the next thing for me to try from the range. It is only the light moisturiser but I think I may buy the rich one as well for when my skin is especially dry. I only got this yesterday and therefore only used it twice but it's really nice, a very light cream almost a lotion but not quite, sinks into the skin very quickly and doesn't leave any residue. You can buy Simple from most supermarkets and drug stores, from Boots it cost £3.29 for a 125ml bottle but you only need a small amount to cover all of your face and neck so it should last quite a long time. I can't really give a full review on this but if you would like me to when i've used it for a few more weeks then tell me and I will :)

Now onto my body, I use two different creams for my body depending on the occasion. If I am going somewhere special then I will use the Monsoon body cream as it has a lovely scent which lingers on your skin and if im not doing anything then I will use the E45 cream. The Monsoon body cream smells like the purfume does which is a scent I really like, it is a very think cream which goes a long way when using it. It is really moisturising and is great if you don't like using purfumes as it makes your skin smell amazing and it lasts on the skin a fair amount of time. The E45 cream is one that I have used since I was born as I have eczema and it is one that is good for people who have eczema, however you can use it even if you don't. This is quite a light moisturiser which sinks into your skin well and leaves you moisturised for the whole day. I use this everywhere and can be used for the face as well I just choose to use a different one. This is a very good cream that I highly recommend even though its not fancy or particularly good to look at it does the job and well.

So that turned into a long post, even though it wasn't meant to be(!) but I hope you enjoyed it and if you have any questions feel free to ask :) Have a good rest of the day :)

TAG - 8 Questions

I have just been tagged by the lovely Natalie at Beauty has no label (who's blog you should really look at) and I thought that I'd better do it straight away otherwise i'll never get round to doing it!

The idea of this tag is that you answer 8 questions of theirs and then you make up 8 of your own and tag the people you want to answer them :)

1. What is your biggest make-up pet peeve?
I hate anybody who has an obvious foundation line, I think it looks terrible and I want to go up to them and blend it out so badly!

2. If you could only wear one piece of jewelery for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Im going to cheat a little on this question as I actually have two which I wear all the time and they are two rings..
(I have no idea why my right hand looks so brown but its actually as white as my left)

The gold one is on my left hand ring finger (no im not engaged) it's actually from my parents and i've had it for about 8 years now maybe longer and i've worn it everyday since I got it and although it only cost them about £10 it just means a lot to me :) and the silver one is on my right hand middle finger and its from my boyfriend from 2 christmas' ago and this cost about £10 (and is from Next if you want to know) but I love this ring because it was a total surprise :)

3. What one talent do you wish you had?
I wish that I could draw, I think people who can are truely amazing especially when they find it so easy! I on the other hand cannot draw to save my life and actually have no talent at all!

4. Which product will you continue to re-purchase?
I will always buy Nivea lip balms, there just amazing and rather cheap compared to some :)

5. If you could look into the future, would you? And what would you want to know?
I definately would, I'd want to know when and who I marry, how many children I have and also what job im doing. Although this would take the surprise out of a lot of things im not a big fan of surprises I'd just like to know :) haha

6. Who is your biggest celebrity crush - including pictures ;)
Ahh I love this :) Im not one who has a particular anything really and it's the same with celeb crushes so I thought I'd show a few of my faves ;)

Timothy Olyphant (especially in Hitman)

Johnny Depp of course

Ed Westwick in Gossip Girl

but there are so many more!

7. What made you start a blog?
I guess I saw that so many other people had one and I thought if they can do it why can't I? Although I don't have a lot of makeup products like some people on here I still feel that I can add my own little bit (every little helps!) :)

8. What's been the proudest moment in your life?
I don't really have one at the moment but hopefully i'll have one in a month when I get my A Level results and hopefully (fingers crossed) I get into uni :)

And my questions areee..
1. Do you do your hair or makeup first?
2. What is your favourite nailvarnish?
3. What product (makeup/skincare or hair) would you recommend?
4. What is your favourite item of clothing? - Pictures would be helpful :)
5. Who is your girl crush and why?
6. What do you know now that you wish you'd known then?
7. If you had unlimited money for a day what would you buy/do?
8. Where do you/would you like to see yourself in 10 years?

And the people I tag areee..
Hannah
Shannon
Imogen
Hannah
Justine
However if anybody else wants to do this tag then please do and tell me so I can read it? :)

NOTD

First of all I want to apologize for being MIA for a few days, I have no excuse other than I've been lazy and couldn't be bothered to blog :( sorryyyy im back now :)

This is ELF's Lilac, it is one of the new colours they have just bought out and I have to say its a lovely colour. To compare it is similar to the new lilac in the Barry M ice cream collection however I don't know exactly how similar because everytime I go into my local Boots or Superdrug it's always out of stock which is rather annoying. Anyway I love this colour is a very nice pastel colour however the formulation for this is rather terrible, this is three coats of the colour however I could of done more but I stopped myself. The pigmentation of this nailvarnish is horrible and when I applied the first coat it looked almost like i'd applied clear nailvarnish. I do like the colour but it does seem like a lot of effort to go through for a colour thats only going to last a couple of days. It only costs £1.50 so you can't expect the perfect product so it doesn't make me regret buying it :)

NOTD

I did my nails in this colour about 5 days ago now and i've just been too lazy to post it up and then when I did try to do it last night the picture wouldn't upload :/ anywayyyyy..

This is ELF's Desert Haze and it's a truely lovely colour which I expect I will be using quite a lot during the summer. The formulation of the product is very good, its not too thick and not too runny, in this picture I have on a base coat, 2 layers of the colour and a top coat. The first coat of the colour was very streaky and I was a little worried but applying a thicker second coat it evened it out and looked perfect :) I am glad that I have this colour as it's a lovely nude which is what I was looking for, it definately has a lilac undertone to it which only adds to my liking of this colour. It didn't stay on for long (but this may be due to my rather crap top coat) without chipping but its definately worth buying and for £1.50 you can't really go wrong. You can buy this from the ELF website :)

Elf Haul! :)

So I placed an order for ELF and it came yesterday and I was so excited to open my package :) So here is what i bought :)

So first of all I got 4 nailvarnishes, from L - R Desert Haze, Mod Mauve, Lilac and Mint Cream. These were £1.50 each.

I then got two brushes from the Studio line. I got the flat top Powder Brush (which is so so soft) to apply liquid foundation and I got the Complexion Brush to apply my pressed powder. These were £3.50 each. I have washed both of these as they were a bit misshapen and they didnt bleed or shed at all.

As I used a code from the Elf facebook website I got these three lipglosses for free, I have no idea what colours they are on the website as when I received them they were in a little plastic bag and when I took them out they were so sticky I had to go and wash them straight away so I never saw what colours they were. I have used the two pink colours but not the brown yet and I can say that they are a very good quality product not overly sticky and apply and look very nice on the lips. These are £1.50 each.

Hope you enjoyed my little haul :) all products can be purchased off of the ELF website (this is a link to the UK website but there is also an American website and some other countries)

In's and Out's

This is my first one of these posts and I have no idea if there mean't to be monthly/seasonal but im not really that bothered as i've wanted to do this post for a while now but haven't got round to it, anywayyyy here are my in's and out's..

In
Finally finishing school! After 7 years I no longer have to go back to my school and do anymore homework or lessons with boring teachers and it is such a relief :)

Summer holidays :) im like everyone else where I loveee the summer holidays where you can just chill out and do nothing :)

Downloading TV shows, I have recently got into downloading all of the TV shows that I never got round to watching when they first aired. So far I have watched all three series of Gossip Girl, all of Sex and the City, Ugly Betty, True Blood (as the new episodes come out in the US as the UK always have to wait an age), and I am currently watching One Tree Hill. Are there any series you would recommend that I download?

Eclipse finally coming out! :) This is by far the best 'in' for me :) I watched it online on friday (which I know I shouldn't do but I couldnt wait another couple of days for it to come out in the UK and I also hate having the pay £8! for a ticket) and it was definately worth it :)

Getting back into caring for my skin, I have been a bit lazy recently and not doing my proper skincare routine but I am finally getting back into it, which my skin is thanking me for :) (post coming soon about the products I use)

Having a foundation that I love :) This makes me very happy and as you may of seen in a recent haul I bought two foundations but I have to say that I loveeee the L'Oreal Matte Morphose its just perfect for me (I have to admit that I have only used Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid foundation once because I am awaiting an order from ELF with a brush to use it with :) but I will review both soon)

Out
My hair in such poor condition, this upsets me :( it was nice once I had it cut off rather short and now it just doesn't look very good, still feels nice but is in a terrible condition, especially the ends from straightening it.

My nailvarnish chipping, this is very annoying and I do have a NOTD to put up but I think I may have to buy a new base/top coat to try and help the nailvarnish stay on longer.

Feeling nervous already about results (19th Aug) and about going to uni (Sept sometime). Do you ever get that nervous feeling deep down and no matter what you do to distract yourself its always there lingering? Well thats what I have now and it's doing my head in :(

Anywayyy thats the end of my ramble, hope you enjoyed reading it! :)

ELF Blush And Bronzer Review + Code/Free Products

Another review from my ELF order about a month ago :) If you want to go straight to the code go to the bottom of the post :)

As you can see this is a blusher and bronzer in the colour blushed/bronzed. I use this with an angled brush and apply the blush on the apples of my cheeks and I use the bronzer as a contour as its far too dark for me to use as a bronzer (but I knew that when I bought it).

Pro's
- Blush gives a nice healthy glow to the face when used in a small quantity
- Blush is a lovely pinky colour with shimmer in it which looks nice and not cakey
- Bronzer gives a good contour to the face when used in small quanitities to all areas, this also has some shimmer in it
- Highly pigmented
- Nice formulation
- Lovely packaging again (like Nars)
- Inexpensive at only £3.50
- This is meant to be a dupe for Nars Orgasm/Laguna compact, however I don't know as I don't own or have seen this product before

Con's
- Bronzer is hard to blend when applied to the face so once put on I do struggle to move it around anywhere
- Bronzer is very dark so can look muddy on somebody with a paler skin tone (like me) but would probably look good on somebody with a darker skin tone
- Quite a loose pressed powder so the packaging can get a little messy with excess powder
- The colours are much darker than those that are shown on the website
- Only one colour option, I think I would like to have one more suited to a paler skin tone

Although there are more con's for this product than my last review I still think that I would recommend it but in the end its down to all of you, I give you the pro's and con's so you can make your own decision on it :)

You can buy this product from the Studio line on the ELF website for £3.50 :) Hope this helped you lovely beauty bloggers :)

There is a free shipping code on the ELF facebook page, the UK one is: FB50THOUSANDUK and the EU one is: FB50THOUSANDEU this ends on the 4th July at midnight. They are also giving away a free pack of 3 mixed Super Glossy Lipshine worth £4.50 with every order, so if you want to make an order do it now whilst they have the code and the products in stock! :)

ELF's Complexion Perfection Review

Almost a month ago I placed an order from ELF and posted all the products in my haul and I was going to do a review on all the products and the lovely Justine asked me to do a review on the complexion perfection so I thought I would start with this first :)

This is a translucent powder which is to be applied all over the face to give a matte, neutralized face, this can be applied over the top of foundation to set it or used on its own on a day when you want a more natural simple face (perfect for summer). I use this by swirling a large powder brush over the whole palette and then brush it over my face, particularly on my cheeks where I have the most redness.

The website says: Create a balanced and radiant complexion that is beautiful and healthy. The lightweight formula evens out the skin tone and absorbs excess oil. The sheer formula brightens, mattes and neutralizes the skin. Blend the powder over the entire face to brighten and even out the skin tone as well as neutralize any redness.

Pro's
- Makes my skin feel silky smooth and very soft
- Gives a nice matte finish to skin
- Although it's white it doesn't leave a white powder on the face
- It does even out the skin tone
- Does neutralize all redness on my face
- It is very inexpensive at the small price of £3.50
- The packaging is very nice (very like Nars)

Con's
- I wouldn't say that the product really brightens the skin
- Does create quite a bit of fall out meaning the packaging inside does become a bit of a mess with powder everywhere

Overall I really love this product and highly recommend it and even if you buy it and decide you don't its only £3.50 so its not going to break the bank or be a such a waste of money. This product is part of the Studio line and can be bought of the ELF website :)
